How to maintain and care for Kahrs lacquered flooring in a commercial setting

Those who have come across Kahrs wooden floors in the past will be aware of their excellent durability and the fact they are generally very easy to clean. With the right kind of maintenance the floor will continue to look at its best for many years to come.

If you run a commercial establishment and have recently had Kahrs lacquered flooring fitted, it is only natural you would want to ensure it is kept in its optimum condition to keep the cost of maintenance down. In this post we’ll be suggesting manufacturer-approved methods of achieving this aim.

To begin with, the surface of the factory-lacquered floor can be made stronger by adding an extra coat of lacquer or two which can improve its moisture-resistant qualities. This may not be as necessary if the flooring is to be used in the same way as you would do in a domestic setting. By going ahead with this though, you can expect the appearance of the surface to change somewhat.

Dry methods should be used for the everyday cleaning of the floor. If you plan to use a combi-machine, be sure to limit the amount of water used. Residual water should be dried straight away.

It is important to ensure the lacquer does not become worn off, as this allows for water and dirt to penetrate the wood turning it grey, meaning the surface will be harder to clean. Should the floor end up looking very worn or requiring renovation, speak to the wood flooring specialists who can use virtually dust free machine-sanding equipment to get it ready so a new surface treatment can be applied.
