Is wood flooring compatible with underfloor heating?

This is a question which is often asked of the wood flooring specialists as many homeowners who wish to install under-floor heating in their properties would also like to make use of the benefits offered by wood flooring.

The good news is that there is a variety of floors which are designed for use with this form of heating and while every floor in the portfolio is not suitable for this, there are still many excellent options for you to choose from.

Most of these floors are engineered to float over an underlay or can be glued to the sub-floor.

As there is a wide selection of under-floor heating solutions available these days, it is important that you opt for a system that is compatible with a wood flooring construction. You should be able to find out this information from the installation and operating instructions offered with these products.

To avoid disappointment, you need to check that it is a viable option for you to have them laid in conjunction with one another. This is because heat spots need to be avoided and they can be caused by unevenly distributed heating pipes under the wood floor.

If you have managed to find an underfloor heating system that will work well with your wood flooring choice, then you can enjoy the dual benefits each can bring.
