FLOOR SANDING IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF MAINTENANCE

Hardwood flooring is renowned for its ability to add a beautifully warm look and ambience to any property in which it’s installed. It’s also known for being very tough and hard wearing, and this is why, once installed, many types of hardwood flooring can last for decades.

To enjoy this longevity though, flooring does need to be cared for and maintained properly- with one of the most important aspects of maintenance being floor sanding.

Here are some of the main reasons why floor sanding is so important…

Reinforcement

As times passes, hardwood flooring can start to become a little worn- on very old floors nails and planks can become loose or broken. These issues should be looked at on a regular basis, and the floor sanding process gives you the opportunity to do this and carry out any necessary repairs.

Prepares flooring for re-staining

Over the years and, the beauty of hardwood flooring can sometimes start to fade slightly, although re-staining can get it back to its best. Before a new stain is applied though, flooring needs to be sanded and prepared.

Preservation

One of the key reasons for floor sanding is preservation. The floor sanding procedure also usually involves sealing, and this is key in prolonging the life of flooring.

If you have hardwood flooring, don’t overlook its importance- it really is essential.
